Q: Can I sell
items made using your patterns?
A: With the purchase of this
pattern comes full permission to sell your creations. I welcome
you to profit from using my patterns! Patterns themselves may NOT
be reproduced or distributed in any way, however.
Q: If I contact
you directly, can I get a better deal on the pricing?
A: No, I actually have
pricing agreements with the sites that sell my products. They put
a lot of effort into promoting my eBooks, and I don't want to
"undersell" them. Plus, when you take into account the size range
and detailed instructions you are getting, the price is very reasonable
to begin with :) .
Q: I
can’t open/print the document!
A: All patterns are in PDF format.
You must have a PDF reader program (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) to open
the pattern. You will also need a printer to print out the pattern
pieces. If the printer gives you a “spooling error,” try
upgrading the PDF reader to the most recent version. Again, these
are large files and sometimes older printers have trouble with
them. If this happens, we can break the ePattern into several
smaller files for you.
Q: Help…I never received my
ePattern links. What do I do??
A: The first thing you should
do
is check your “Spam” folder. It is also possible that the
email
“bounced” or that you have a full inbox. If you haven’t received
access to your product within 48 hours, please contact
me.
Q: Wow…There are
so many pages to print! Why are your ePatterns so long?
A: I try to provide as much detail
as possible in each ePattern. Every step is very clearly
illustrated with words and detailed diagrams or photographs. This
makes for a much more pleasant sewing experience, especially if you are
a beginner. The illustrations and text are intentionally large to
allow for on-screen viewing (a great option if you have a computer in
your sewing space). If you prefer to have a print out, you can print
the pages 2 to a page (you can set your preferences in the print
screen). The print will still be perfectly legible at the reduced
size. Many of the pages are taken up by the actual pattern
pieces. One of the nice things about ePatterns is that you can
print just the size you need when you need it. In most of the
ePatterns I provide a “Quick Print Guide” that tells you exactly what
pages to print for your desired size/options.
Q: Do you
sell things made from your patterns?
A: I spend so much time doing
"research and development" that I just don't have the time to sew items
to sell. Many members of my Lab
Personnel have their own sewing businesses, and can collaborate with you
on custom creations.
Q: Where can I show off my creations and get design inspiration?
A: Check out our Flickr Group
to see hundreds of pictures of clothing made from Scientific Seamstress
and SisBoom patterns. Join us and add your own! Also,
YouCanMakeThis.com has a wonderful feature called "I Made This" - a special section for customer creations. The uploaded images appear in slide shows on the individual product pages.
